About

Darriel Jones is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Barbados and currently based in Toronto, Canada. Coming from a family of artists, Darriel was surrounded by creativity from an early age, inspiring him to develop and pursue his own artistic practice. Over the years, he has explored and blended a range of mediums, techniques and influences to create a distinctive and vibrant visual language.
Darriel’s work is deeply rooted in the things he has loved and experienced throughout his life. His inspiration comes from childhood influences such as cartoons and anime, as well as his love for travel, fashion, design and the diverse cultures he has encountered along the way. His family and cultural identity also play an important role in his creative expression, extending beyond his own heritage to the many people, places, and traditions he has experienced through travel. Through a multidisciplinary practice, Darriel brings these influences together to create work that is colorful, expressive and distinctly personal. His artis a reflection of who he is, what he loves, and the world as he experiences it.
